What Are Your Gifts?

As you evaluate the past year and plan for the next, here is something to think about.

Bezalel was a young man who was “filled with the Spirit of God:
*in wisdom and ability
*in understanding and intelligence
*in knowledge in all kinds of craftsmanship,
to:
*devise skillful works,
*work in gold,
*work in silver,
*work in bronze,
*cut stones for settings,
*carve wood,
*work in all kinds of craftsmanship.”

Aholiab was “appointed wisdom and ability to make all that I have commanded you:
*The Tent of Meeting
*The ark of the Testimony
*The mercy seat
*All the furnishings of the tent
*The table of showbread and its utensils
*The pure lamp stand with its utensils
*The altar of incense
*The altar of burnt offering and its utensils
*The laver and its base
*Finely worked garments for Aaron and his sons
*Anointing oil
*Incense of sweet spices for the Holy Place.”

We often think gifts from God are only spiritual or just for use in the church.
Some are.
But I personally believe God gives gifts or specific abilities to everyone.

The wisest man who ever lived (and one of my future Best Friends) said, “…as for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, (that’s everyone in America, by the way), He has also empowered him to
A. eat from them
B. receive his reward
C. rejoice in his labor

This is the gift of God.” (Ecclesiastes 5:19)

To me, that means:
1. The God who designed you built specific gifts into you so you can provide for yourself and those you are responsible to care for at the time. (Have you ever noticed how we often end up taking care of those who initially took care of us?)

2. Your gifts bless you with earthly rewards. (After all, everyone works better when there is some kind of prize at the end of the competition.)

3. Using your gift correctly also gives you a good feeling deep inside when you do a job well that helps others.

The problem I see is that generic education often fails to help each of us identify our natural gifts so we can get specific education and become the best we can be doing what comes to us naturally.

Don’t let that stop you from discovering your gifts.

Keep searching and learn to be like Bezalel and Aholiab from Exodus 31 so that you can serve the Lord in the way He designed you to.

Until you discover your gifts, your purpose and your assignment, you can’t help but be continually frustrated. Some men even die in discontentment.

Henry David Thoreau (another one of my future Best Friends) said, “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation, and go to the grave with the song still in them.”

Don’t do it.

Find out who you are and get educated so you can incorporate your gift to serve those around you (and God) better.

Decide to make 2008 the year you quit being frustrated.

Live by the words of Sir Winston Churchill: “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.”

So many books, so little time...

who hopes you have a wonderful 2008!

Is Christmas Pagan?

So many people dread this time of year.

Maybe it’s because they are expected to spend money they don’t have on gifts others don’t need or want.

We have become a rich society with high standards, yet many of us still can’t afford to pay the power bill!

Here’s another thing. All this celebrating is getting more and more commercial every year.

What’s worse, the day we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, really wasn’t his birthday in the first place. Originally, it was a pagan holiday.

So, many people believe we shouldn’t celebrate Christmas at all.

And then there’s the thing about bringing the evergreen into our houses like it says not to do in the Old Testament.

So lots of families have ditched the tree.
What’s a well-meaning family to do?

Here’s what I think.

Yes, the world has commercialized Christmas.
Yes, Jesus wasn’t born on December 25.
Yes, it was a pagan holiday.
Yes, we aren’t supposed to bring evergreens into our houses to worship.

But consider this.
The most powerful, successful country that has ever existed on the face of the planet focuses on one day of the year as its main holiday.

Our country certainly isn’t doing a lot of things right. But the fact that Jesus’ birthday is the highlight of the year should encourage you.

And giving gifts to others does remind us that we certainly DO have a lot to be thankful for because in all of our perceived “poverty,” we really have a lot.

So whether you celebrate Christmas or not, when you experience despair over the state of our nation, remember that not only is Jesus happy that we acknowledge Him, but He’s also on the Throne.

So many books, so little time...

If Moses Delegated, So Should You!
Or
2 Reasons to Quit Being a Control Freak

Have you ever felt that you were led by God (or your boss at work … or your spouse) to do a good thing but before long, you felt like the burden was just too great to bear?

I have.

You know you’re doing something that is very necessary and you know others are counting on you, but you find yourself thinking way too often, “It’s too much to handle.”

Well, if that’s where you are, you are in good company. Moses found himself in the same situation.

God told him to judge the actions of the Israelites so he did. Every day, he would sit to judge the people from “morning until night” and tell them if what they were doing was right or wrong according to God’s ways. They were all dependent on him.

(And Moses was in training for reigning in heaven.)

Then his father-in-law Jethro came along one day and said, “What are you doing? You are going to wear out yourself and wear out the people (They are going to get tired of you.)”

So Jethro said, “Represent the people before God and bring their cases before Him. Also,
teach the people the decrees and laws show them the way they must walk show them the work they must do “Choose able men, God-fearing men of truth who hate unjust gain and place them over thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens to be their rulers. And let them judge the people at all times.”

So he did.

Now, let’s look at this situation.

* Moses took his assignment seriously and didn’t even consider asking anyone else to help.
Ever done that?

* The people didn’t know the law and weren’t trained to do their jobs because they looked to Moses for all leadership.
Ever done it all yourself because it was “easier”?

* Even though Moses was God’s man at the time, his father-in-law had vision for his life that he didn’t have.
Ever been blind about matters in your own life even though it’s easy to see what others should do?

* When the judges started helping Moses, more than likely they felt the sense of purpose that comes when a person contributes to an important project.
Ever been guilty of robbing others of that inner satisfaction because you didn’t let them help?

Think about how these concepts could apply in your situation with your children or with the people you work with or in other organizations.

Too often, we perfectionists carry all the burdens of a project we believe we have been given from God and try do it all ourselves. When others ask if they can help, we say, “No, we’re good.”
We don’t realize that, like Moses, we will wear ourselves out doing good works while robbing others of the blessing and satisfaction that comes with contributing to an important project.

Our purpose as leaders or parents then is to train those around us to do their part so they can help with the larger project, not just do it all ourselves.

Our goal is to create a light in the eyes of those we are responsible to train.

When you see the light that comes from a deep inner satisfaction in someone you’ve invested in by training, you have succeeded. You have done your job. You have accomplished the main goal.
So, work to create light in the eyes of others.

You might just discover that someone else can do that job just as well … or maybe even better…than you!

And you won’t go to bed as tired anymore.

So many books, so little time...

More Encouragement is Coming!

As I look back over 2007 and think about what my family has accomplished in this year, I am amazed at how God has worked in our lives.

My daughter had a baby. My daughter-in-law is due in January.

My kids are building a house together with Drew.

God has put me smack dab in the middle of the Internet millionaires, the very guys who are directly the small business side of the Internet.

And most of them create their wealth in their spare bedrooms!

Personally, I think that is the way it should be! I think God intended for the home to be the center of everything – hospitality, church, and civic activities.

Good government starts at home. Good business should too.

If you are stuck in a rut, analyze your life and ask yourself what you could be doing differently.

If things aren’t like you’d like for them to be, give your discontentment to the Lord.
Tell him you aren’t content. Ask Him to put contentment inside of you. Once it’s there, decide you will do what you have to do to change your circumstances so that you can live life abundantly instead.

It’s okay to have more than enough to get by. It’s okay to bless others out of your abundance.
Have faith that God is for you, not against you. And have faith that your life CAN change. God will do His part; and you have to do yours. Ask Him what it is.

Watch for an email from me next Wednesday that will tell you more about 2007. It’s been an amazing year!

So many books, so little time...

Looking for Vision for Your Life?

It’s amazing to me that in a society as educated as ours, we don’t help our young people figure out who they want to be when they grow up.

Schools don’t always offer true career guidance.

And you know what? I think that’s probably a good thing. Here’s why.

Guidance is a spiritual thing. God created you for a particular reason. The duty of parents is to help kids discover what it is for them. The problem is, most parents don’t know what they want to be when they grow up. So our country is full of the blind leading the blind.

We need men and women of understanding to shine some light here. Being a person of understanding means you understand how something works. That’s it!

Well, if you could use a dose of vision for your life, consider joining the families in our Protégé program who are discovering new areas of home business they never knew existed!

This Monday night, I want to introduce you to four families who are about to see the power of God change their entire direction!

Join us on the phone Monday, Dec. 3 at 9 PM Eastern Time to find out what they are doing.

Keep Going!

Do you ever feel like you’re trying to do good, trying to provide well for your family and nothing seems to go right?

In fact, not only does everything not go right, it seems like everyone is against you?

Do you feel like even God is not listening?

Well, guess what?

The same thing happened to Moses. He basically told God, “Why have you dealt evil to this people? Why did you ever send me to help them?”

So many times, it seems like the good work we do doesn’t accomplish what we expect. It could be that like Moses, there is a bigger story happening and we don’t see the whole picture.

It could be that God is trying to show us His power so that after we’ve gone through the trial, we will not just know who He is but we’ll know HIM.

God responded to Moses by saying, “Watch what I’m going to do with Pharaoh. Not only is he going to let the people go, but he’s going to drive them out of the land.”

Then God told Moses to tell the people, “I will bring you out from under the burden of the Egyptians, I will set you free, and I will be a God to you.”

But they didn’t believe it because of their “impatience, anguish of spirit, and cruel bondage.”

If you are in a place where you are starting to doubt that any good thing could ever happen to you, realize where you are. You may have been under too much stress for too long and feel like you are starting to unravel at the seams.

You, too, could be affected by “impatience, anguish of spirit, and cruel bondage.”

But God has put you where you are. It could be that He is about to show Himself to you in a very powerful way, just as He did the Israelites.

So don’t give up. In fact, never give up, especially on God.

Even though times are hard, they could be harder. Even though people around you seem merciless, they could be worse. Even though you may feel like you are in cruel bondage, you still have your freedom.

Ask God to give you insight about your situation from His perspective. Ask Him to show you what He is doing in your life and to make Himself real to you. Ask Him to keep you from becoming bitter about life so that you don’t lose your joy like the guys in Exodus 6 did.

Keep going. Make a list of all your blessings. And never give up hope that God loves you and put you right where you are to do something!

Go find it!

So many books, so little time...

    Writing for the Web Class

This past Tuesday, I announced a class we will be offering in January and February, 2008 to teach writers and editors how to write for the web.

For years, I have needed help putting together all the emails, articles and press releases for our events, classes and mentoring programs but haven’t had anyone trained in each one of those areas to do it.

We also need to produce ebooks to tell all the marvelous stories that are resulting from this move of God that is sweeping across the country where families are going back to working from home.

So that class will begin in January. Deadline to register is midnight, Sunday, December 30.

    To download the call, visit

    Our Philosophy of Home Schooling

I started homeschooling my 7 children in 1987 and decided to fill their lives with practical "real world" education.

My oldest son Drew wasn’t the most academic kid on the block, but when he was just 18, he became a real estate investor.

By the time he was 21, he replaced his dad’s income so his dad could come home from corporate America and care for his elderly father.

Drew figured out a very cool way to sell houses on eBay in just 7 days while getting the price he wanted so now he now teaches real estate investors how to sell houses on eBay and has become a popular speaker at real estate investment seminars.

When I told my Yahoo! Group about it, 100 people came to my house for a one-day workshop. Four flew! The next year it happened again!

That’s how we found ourselves in the middle of hosting an annual international home business conference where families learn how to become financially free together.

That conference has also expanded to educational courses and mentoring.

So, until Midnight, Sunday, December 30th, you can get 20 years’ worth of the lessons we’ve learned the hard way in 3 e-books for less than the price of one! Just $9.97!

After that, we’re going to offer them separately and for much more.

    Titles Are:

    * "Educating for Success: Developing the Mindset of an Entrepreneur"
    * "10 Things This Mama Taught Her Kids about Having Their Own Businesses"
    * "How to Start a Business with Nothing but an Email Address"

    Accounting Education

One of the dads I am working with who is an accountant has just created a wonderful new resource for small business owners who need help with the financial side of their business.

Not everyone can get a degree in accounting before they begin a business, so Darrel Hawes of Washington has developed an interactive site where you can log on to his forum and ask ANYTHING you want about your finances.

In other words, he is making his knowledge and expertise available for the members of his online small business community. Is that amazing or what?

For a limited time, he is opening his site to charter members.

To learn more, visit: http://www.BasicAccountingforSmallBusiness.com.

Grief Support

One of the Moms I am working with, who is a former Hospice worker and social worker, has a heart for helping those who are suffering from grief.

No matter what the cause of the grief is, we all need to learn how to deal constructively with emotional pain.

Pam Clark, a homeschooling mom of five from Colorado, shares her story, her heart and her compassion with the members of her site. She wants to help others step through the grief that is inevitable on this earth.

To become a charter member, visit:

If you know anyone who is hurting for any reason, you are welcome to mention this ministry to them.

Drew’s Smashed Car Story

You can only imagine what life is like with Drew around. Well, this week, he almost sold a smashed car that’s been sitting in the front pasture since his friend wrecked it about three years ago.

He put the auction on… where else?

eBay.

The winning bidder drove three hours from Mississippi to our place, the Backside of Nowhere in Southern Tennessee, to pick up this car.

The winning bidder, Dennis, buys wrecks, fixes them, and then resells them. Well, they had poured gas into the carburetor to start it so just as we were loading the car onto the car dolly, the car caught on fire!

Well, Dennis said, "I don’t think I want that car after all," and left.

So if anyone is interested in a slightly burned, smashed, low mileage Honda Civic, let me know.

Oh, and go read the auction copy before it expires. It’s a riot!

Just go to eBay.com, log in, search for Seller – DrewTheWildMan, then check his completed auctions.

Boys!

************

For years I have been helping families focus on working their way home from corporate America as my son and I helped our dad, Wendell.

It doesn’t happen quickly so if that is your desire, pray and decide to get started.Something is happening in this country.

I don’t think it’s good.

During the Depression, those who had cash in the bank not only survived but thrived when everyone else was jumping out of windows.

I personally believe that those who are prepared financially when hard times arise soon will shoulder the storm better than those who are not.

I am dedicated to helping families enter into the freedom that my family has discovered.

There is more than just having a job. There is more than living paycheck-to-paycheck and focusing on paying the power bill.

If you are sick and tired of being poor and powerless, then make up your mind today that you aren’t going to be content with "not enough" any more.

Decide today that you are going to Do Something to change your life.

Join us, along with others who have decided to change the world!

Here's help...tonight!

When a woman gives birth to a child, she experiences grief because her time to deliver has come. When she has delivered that child, she no longer remembers her pain because she is so glad that her child has finally come into the world.

You may be experiencing sorrow like a woman in labor or worse. If you are, prepare yourself for your Day of Delivery!

Jesus told his disciples, “In the world, you have tribulation, but take courage, I have overcome the world.”

If you are hurting and are more than ready to overcome your pain, join me on the phone tonight when I interview former Hospice worker and homeschool mom, Pam Clark.

She’s been there and she can help. And you’re going to love her new site!

The call is tonight, Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 9 PM Eastern Time.

Need encouragement?

“Anxiety in the heart of a man (or woman) weighs it down, but a good word makes it glad.”

Those are the words of the wisest man who ever lived. His name was Solomon and he recorded them in the book of Proverbs.

Somehow, he knew anxiety. He experienced loss. He experienced despair.

But he must have also experienced the joy of conquering despair through the “good words” of others.

Then he recorded life’s lessons so he could share them with others. Today, thousands of years later, we can still read them in Proverbs, Chapter 12.

I personally believe that each of us should challenge ourselves to continually speak good words to others, especially those we live with. You never know how someone is hurting.

It’s hard to find someone who hasn’t experienced loss of something significant, whether it’s a pet, a boyfriend, a job, a spouse or a parent.

It’s often hard to pull ourselves up out of despair and that’s why it is so important for us to encourage each other, especially during this family season we are entering in November.

Even though families are wonderful, the misunderstandings that often occur aren’t always reconciled. That can cause grief and complications at the Thanksgiving table… if everyone even shows up.

So we have to learn how to deal with grief constructively.

Tomorrow night, I’ll be talking with a grief counselor on the phone who is launching an exciting new site that offers help for the hurting!

Whether you’ve lost a pet or a parent, join us to learn more about a very needed ministry.

My guest will be Pam Clark, a former Hospice worker and homeschool mom from Colorado.

She has a story you don’t want to miss.

If you know anyone who is experiencing grief and could use some words of encouragement, invite them to this call. It could change their life.

The call is Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 9 PM Eastern Time.

Learn Basic Accounting

Robert Kiyosaki says the four most important business skills an entrepreneur must have are:

*Sales
*Investing
*Leadership
*Accounting

His Rich Dad taught him, “If an entrepreneur is struggling, it is often because he is weak in one or more of these business skills.”

So why are these skills not part of a standard high school scope and sequence?

More important than that, how can we get the right type of education to become proficient in these skills whether we're in high school or not?

Well, my answer is “learn it by doing it.”

Sales

To get experience in sales, sell something.

Affiliate marketing is the easiest way to learn how to make online sales.

Sites with affiliate programs have already done the market research and the search engine optimization for you.

They have suffered through the product creation process.

All you have to do is put your affiliate link out to folks who want what the site offers.

Investing

To get experience in investing, take a course or find a mentor before you jump in. If you don’t, you could and probably will quickly lose your shirt.

You’ve heard stories about your neighbor’s brother’s friend who had a cousin who lost his life’s savings in the stock market a year ago, right?

Well those stories come from novices who wake up with a great idea one morning and decide they are going to jump into the deep end of the investing world’s swimming pool when they haven’t learned how to put their face in the water in the shallow end.

They are an accident waiting to happen.

And “stock market investing” in general gets the blame.

Bottom line: get educated first.

Leadership

To get experience in leadership, get involved in a group that is going somewhere. Then watch what the leader does and copy what he or she does that works.

Start your own group and go somewhere.

But here’s the biggest pitfall to small business that I see.

Accounting

To get experience in accounting, you have to have a business in place or work with someone who does.

But somewhere during those early years when we were getting that foundational education, somebody forgot to include basic accounting as a requirement for living a successful life.

I personally think the reason why April 15 is the most dreaded day on the calendar is because most of us haven’t been taught how to keep track of our personal finances.

Employees don’t have many options, but small business owners don’t have any choice.

Keeping track of your business’ accounting can become a nightmare when you don’t know what you’re doing.

And then as soon as you think you have figured it out, the IRS changes the rules!

Yes, we’re also lazy and busy and unorganized… but this isn’t an elective.

Uncle Sam expects an account for the year and if he doesn’t think you got it right, he can send his auditors to make your life miserable.

So I personally think that in order to be truly “educated,” you have to understand basic accounting.

If you have a bookkeeper or an accountant, that’s fine! But if you could read their language, you could ensure their accuracy and know they aren’t taking advantage of you.

Tiger Woods went to college to study business and accounting. From the beginning, he planned to be a professional golfer. But his dad encouraged him to get his degree in accounting so he could communicate with and keep an intelligent eye on his bookkeepers.

Smart boy! Smart dad!

So if you don’t have a clue about where to start getting the proper education and encouragement about one of the very basics of operating a small business – accounting – join me Tuesday night, Oct. 30 at 9 PM Eastern to meet accountant and homeschool dad of 8, Darrel Hawes.

We have a solution.

A Contest and a Mindset

Hey,

You’ve heard our story of how my oldest son Drew became a real estate investor at age 18 and brought his dad home from corporate America in just a few years.

(By the way, he and Carol are expecting in January! Yahoo!)

Well, in my spare time, I’ve finally gotten around to recording how we developed an entrepreneurial mindset focused on serving God and others instead of ourselves and what I teach the kids about all that.

I’ve also written down how we got started online with nothing but a computer and how anyone can do what we’ve done.

And there’s one more thing.

We’re hosting a contest this year that you definitely want to hear about!

I’ll be on the phone this Tuesday night, Oct. 23 at 9 PM Eastern and I want you to join me so I can tell you all about what’s happening at our house.

Learn to be a Virtual Assistant

Hey,

The Internet has changed business, and here's an opportunity for you to benefit from it.

As more and more businesses become virtual, more people are able to provide services to small online companies from home.

Virtual Assistants, commonly known as "VA's," manage it much like an office manager does, only they do it all virtually from a remote location.

They are becoming very popular.

The problem is, there aren't that many of them.

And there is a serious need in the online marketplace for loyal, skilled, and trustworthy VA's.

So my personal VA and I are going to teach you!

Together we are going to host an 8-week class via Webinars and conference calls to train basic Virtual Assistants.

The classes will start on Thursday, October 11.

To learn more about it, listen to the call I did with my personal VA, Denise Lindvall

You can listen to it here:

Home: the Center of Ministry

Hey,

In this age of securing professionals for everything, we have lost sight of one key truth.

God ordained the home to be the center of ministry.
There are tons of examples in the Bible and in history where small things started in homes.

Jeff Bezos started Amazon in his garage.
Pierre Omidyar started Ebay in an apartment.
Sergei Brin and Larry Page started Google in their college dorm room.
And look where they are today!

My family has personally experienced that on a much smaller scale with the conference we just hosted two weeks ago.
Entrepreneur Days, which served over 300 guests from 30 states including Alaska, California, Washington, and Florida, started in my living room just a few years ago.
We even had guests from Saudi Arabia and Canada.

This past weekend, I wanted to host a double baby shower for my daughter and my daughter-in-law and so my old friends could meet my son-in-law and my daughter-in-law.
But since I have been a bit busy with the conference lately, my house isn’t in “show shape.”
In fact, parts of it are trashed.

I considered renting the hall at the volunteer fire station down the road so I wouldn’t have to clean the house.

But I started thinking about my purpose, as I always do.
Home is supposed to be the center of ministry. It always has been.
So I rounded up the kids and we focused on cleaning the public spaces.
We just shut the doors to the rooms we didn’t get to.
Ever done that?
(I know you have!)

So yesterday, we had a glorious event! The boys all stayed.
Drew even stayed and played our silly baby games.
He didn’t win the diapering competition but his energy efficient house stories and his $66 power bill during a month when temperatures averaged over 100 degrees was popular with the ladies.
(He’s building super energy efficient houses these days.)

After the event when all the guests had left, the kids were in such a great mood that I didn’t want to leave them to go to bed.
That’s what home is supposed to be like.

If life at your house isn’t what you’d like it to be, pray that the Lord gives you wisdom to change what needs to be changed.

Learn how to balance all the people and activities so you always keep the main thing the main thing.

(That’s why women are multi-taskers!)

When we keep our priorities right by honoring our spouse and children and focusing on establishing home as a place of ministry, God is pleased.

And everybody else is happy too!

So many books, so little time…

How Do You Do It All?

Hey,

Does your home business take too much time away from your family . . . and vice versa?

Is it a struggle to discern what should have your attention and energy at any one time?

Do you have trouble staying motivated?

Is your life so dominated by the urgent that you never get to the important?

Do you ever feel like you could finally “get it all done” . . . if you could just get past that 24-hours-in-a-day barrier?

How do you do it all?

Mary Jo Tate of Tupelo, Mississippi, our outgoing Protégé of the Year for 2006, knows all about the challenges of balancing home, kids, and business.

She’s a single mom who homeschools her four boys while working exclusively from home as a writer, editor, and book coach.

**********
Here’s what one of Mary Jo’s clients has to say:

“By directing my attention to acceptance of that which doesn’t match up to my ideal, Mary Jo Tate liberated me to pour my energies into being a woman of motion, rather than being paralyzed by my list of what “should be” but wasn’t. No longer do I have my eyes on the disappointments of what I’m not doing, instead, I can now focus on the potential opportunities of whatcould be done.

“Mary Jo didn’t cut me any slack, all the while operating in kindness and with a Mother’s heart. She attacked my belief that I should be able to “do it all” with a ferocity given only to a woman who has been beaten up by that lie herself. She focused her super-woman laser eyes on the issues in my life and took them on!”

Dawn Clark
Bremen, Indiana

**********

I’ve asked Mary Jo to join me on a call Tuesday night to explain some of her powerful strategies for managing the transition as you implement your entrepreneurial education and fit it intoyour daily life.

She’ll also share the entrepreneurial principles she used towork her way off food stamps, double her income in one year, and win our Protégé contest.

Will you join us in Atlanta?

Hey,

We recently asked the question, “What Would Have to Happen for You to Join Us at our Annual Entrepreneur Days Conference in August?”

Here were some of the answers:

“Move it north so it isn't so far away.”

“A little closer to my home in Seattle, but it sounds like a great conference”

“I need it to be held in St. Louis!”

“Ooh! A conference in Florida would be good!”

“I’ve been following you a long time but haven’t made it there because I live in Germany.”

“A free air ticket from New Zealand”

Well, guess what? It’s in Atlanta this year.

For our Atlanta event, we have guests registered who are coming from Saudi Arabia Washington, California, and Canada.

When opportunity like this where we bring a handful of millionaires who don’t have a problem sharing their secrets and teaching others how they have made their fortunes presents itself to you, look at it differently.

Instead of looking at the distance as a problem, look at it the way our Protégé of the Year for 2006 does.

Mary Jo Tate is a single mom in Tupelo, MS who totally provides for her family while also homeschooling her 4 boys.

Mary Jo has attended all of our conferences except the very first one that was held at my house. She always takes one of her boys to our events and plans an extra day after the event is over to see the local sites. She makes it a field trip and writes it in her school journal.

But more than that, she has dedicated a whole weekend to focusing her attention on just one boy.

How do you think it makes that young man feel? What kind of impact do you think a weekend away with mom will have on that young man’s self esteem?

Think about the memories they have created.

Mary Jo does what I have done for years. I take my teens to the mentors and experiences they need. I don’t wait for them to come to me.

How does Mary Jo do it all?

That’s what she’ll be sharing when she reveals her secrets with our Proteges at our Protégé Day on Thursday, August 23, before the event.

If you want to join us, it’s not too late.

However, the special negotiated rate on hotel rooms expires on Sunday, August 12 so if you are planning to attend but haven’t registered just yet, don’t delay. The rate goes from $89 to $159.

If you have any questions, I would love to answer them for you. Just email and let us know.

See you there!

Want to be a real estate investor?

Hey,

I personally think everybody ought to own a house. And
after you’ve bought one, I believe you should acquire at
least one more.

Here are the advantages:
You are now a real estate investor and can take advantage of the tax benefits.

You would get a little extra passive income every month when the person living there pays the mortgage.

You could sell the place offering owner financing, thus providing a service to one of the 60% of good folks in this country who can’t go to the bank to get a loan.

If your current owner leaves, you can sell it again. (If they owned the house, they probably fixed it instead of tearing it up as renters are prone to do.)

When you retire at a ripe old age, it will have appreciated, if you bought well, and you can sell it for extra retirement or emergency money.

Notice that I did not say rent a house to renters and collect rent.
There is a better way.

But before you do any of this, you HAVE to get the right
education.

After all, you wouldn’t jump behind the wheel of a boat and
take off into the open sea without first getting the right
education.

If someone leaves you a significant amount of money or if (heaven
forbid) you won the lottery, before you start trying to invest the
money, get a good specific education.

Very few people are successful investing in real estate without first
getting a proper education. The mistakes they will make can be
incredibly expensive. Yes, you can learn by doing but that’s the hard
way.

If you think education is expensive, try ignorance. Drew almost lost
$100,000 one time on one deal.

I went out in the front field in the middle of the night and cried out
to God.
I said, “Oh God! That boy you gave me is about to give away the
farm! Help us!”

Well, God came through as He always does and even though the
price was waaaay too low, the party who won the auction (yes,
it was on eBay) couldn’t come up with the money.
So they backed out and the farm was saved.

And I gave Drew a hollering at that he has never forgotten.
He said, “Well Mama, you told me to get rid of the property!”
And I said, “Yes son, but I didn’t mean to give it away.”

Well, that was a learning experience for all of us. And there was
no one educated in selling houses on eBay to learn from so he
learned a lot of lessons the hard way.
(And I learned to be careful what I tell him.)

But with traditional real estate, there are experts available to learn
from who keep you from making those expensive mistakes.

Lou Brown is one of my family’s mentors. He’s been around for
a long time teaching others about real estate as he continues to
invest personally.

Lou is one of the teachers who have created thousands of millionaire
real estate investors throughout the world.

Everyone I know uses his forms to complete transactions.

At Entrepreneur Days, he is going to show you examples of what he
has taught his students. He’s even going to show you pictures of houses
he has sold over and over.

He has one story of a house he’s sold many, many times since he
bought it years ago. It’s just a normal little house like you have in
your town.

Once you see what he does, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to be
a real estate investor.

So if you want to be part of the 70% of the financially free in this
country who got there because of investing in real estate, do whatever
you have to do to get to our annual home business conference to meet
Lou Brown this August 24-26.

He is a great guy and you are going to enjoy his presentation so
much! Plus, he can change your life.

If you haven’t grabbed your seat yet, make sure you do it today!
Don’t let anything get in the way of you reaching your goals for
financial independence. Life is too short and your work on this
earth is too important.

I believe that YOU can do it… with the right education.
You didn’t get it in school, so I’m bringing it to you now.

This is where Drew and I learned to invest in real estate and I want
you to get the same Street Smart education we got from Lou Brown.

Join us in Atlanta this August!

And don’t forget to bring your teens!

Need vision and inspiration for your life?

Hey,

I often wonder why there aren’t more financially successful people in America.

The poverty level is around $19,000.
The mean income in America is about $46,000.
Business owners generally net about $400,000.

It seems that owning a business is more lucrative than working for someone
else at a job. Yet most of us haven’t been trained or encouraged to have our
own businesses.

There also are the risks.
What if things don’t work out as planned?
What about health insurance?
What if I don’t like the business after I start it?
Those are all viable concerns.

Things never work out as planned. That’s the beauty of the entrepreneurial way.
You don’t need a plan, you need a path.
Insurance? There are insurance programs for the self-employed.

If you don’t like doing what you started out to do, then outsource what you
don’t like to do and do what you love!

Einstein said, “Inspiration is more valuable than knowledge.”

My goal is to live an inspired life.

Every day, I want to walk in the inspiration of the Lord, hearing what He wants
me to do and doing what He says. I don’t want to be locked into a routine I can’t
break out of. I want to live my life free, yet responsibly.

We are often told that to live free means we are being irresponsible,
unstable and flighty. Yes, some folks are; but I doubt that most business owners
who control their own time and employ others would be called irresponsible.

I personally believe God created each of us to do a particular task.
And I’m not so sure that all of us are supposed to be employees working for someone else.
That’s just what we’ve been taught in the last few decades.
But that’s not the way it has to be.
I see way too many educated folks living too close to the poverty line these days.

Robert Kiyosaki paraphrased Buckminster Fuller in Rich Dad, Poor Dad, “Poverty has nothing to do with money. Money does not produce wealth. Wealth is what a person knows and the more people know, the richer they will feel.”

Our problem in America is that we are uneducated.

We have not been steered toward knowledge of how to create our own
businesses so that we can direct our own lives.

If someone else directs our lives, then we are ultimately not in control of it as we should be.
Yes, God is in control of everything but we are also supposed to be responsible
for each step we take, each habit we develop and each job we perform.

I agree with Thomas Edison who said, “If we did all the things we’re capable
of doing ...we would literally astonish ourselves.”

I am dedicated to helping people discover who they are and what they
were put on this earth to accomplish.

I work all year long putting together conferences with millionaire experts
that I meet along the way who have the vision and education that most of us lack.

I left society 10 years ago and have restructured my family’s entire life to be
able to provide help through people and resources to those who are serious
about changing their lives.
If you are one of the thousands who are struggling with life, there is hope.
I want to encourage you.

Every year, I invite a handful of experts to one place to give people like you
vision, inspiration and education you won’t find just anywhere.

And it’s all in one hotel, all during one weekend.

It’s called Entrepreneur Days and you’ve never experienced anything
like it before in your entire life.

There’s no way to imagine what will happen there. It’s just too incredible.
All you can do is attend and find out. And bring the teens because they
actually understand this thinking better than those of us who have been
trained not to dream.

As Les Brown says, “You don't have to be great to get started...
but you have to get started to be great".

Your goal may not to be great. But as you start discovering what you were
put on this earth to do, you’ll start becoming something you’re not.
You’ll start thinking like folks who have accomplished much.
You’ll start becoming a great influence in the world.
You’ll start becoming great.

Life is not supposed to be a methodical plodding from birth to the grave.
Rather, it should be a fun-filled adventure full of roller coaster experiences
pressed down, shaken together and running over with diversity and intensity.

Our focus shouldn’t be on paying the bills each month; it should be on
completing the projects God has given us.

And when one giant project is completed, ask, “Okay Lord, we built
that empire. What’s next?” And God may say, “Something bigger.
You were faithful with a little, now let’s go for a lot.”

I want to help you get a new life this August.

Learn How to eBay on Autopilot

Hey,

If your income could use a boost, eBay is the fastest way to get it.

Yet if you don’t use the power of the World’s Trading Post
correctly, you may create a monster of a job, like so many do,
that controls you instead of you controlling it.

eBay offers one way out of the Rat Race. There are several
other ways that the experts I’ve invited will be teaching at our
annual family business conference, Entrepreneur Days, this August.

This Tuesday night at 9pm EST, I’ll be talking with
Power Seller Mike Enos who has put his eBay business on autopilot.

He doesn’t sit around listing and shipping items all day; he has
set up systems so everything operates automatically.

Tuesday night, July 10th, he will explain the benefits of selling
on eBay when you know how to do it right.

Date/Time is: July 10th at 9pm EST

For girls who don’t want to work away from home but who want

Your Independence Day & Early Bird deadline

Hey,

Today our country celebrates its independence as a nation. It is a proud day.
Yet how many of us still live in financial bondage that keeps us from enjoying
the freedom and responsibility God created us to have?

We haven’t been trained to think for ourselves. We haven’t been encouraged
to have our own businesses. We haven’t been prepared to live financially free.

So when we get really sick and tired of living too close to the poverty line and
not being able to help others like we should, it’s time to take action.

And I want to help.

God has placed me smack dab in the middle of some very successful people.
None of them have jobs.In fact, most of them are unemployable.
Their minds have been stretched to think in ways that common Wal-mart
shoppers could never imagine.

They aren’t restricted by lack. They are challenged by adversity.
They even consider problems a blessing to solve. I have invited a handful
of these incredibly successful men and women who have knowledge and
understanding that few people have to spend the weekend with me this August.

Not everything you hear will be for you. Not everything I hear is right for me.
That’s why I have put together an assortment of businesses that anybody
can do so you can get a glimpse of several options.

I personally believe that teens should spend the years from ages 13 to 20
exploring career options. But how can they know what is possible unless
someone shows them some successful models?

This August, hundreds of people are going to get a clear vision of what they
can do from home. Hundreds are going to have their own personal
"Aha!" moments. Hundreds are going to experience a change of mindset
and attitude that they never could imagine.

I want you to be one of those hundreds. I want you to have your own personal
Independence Day. I want you to take control of your life so that you accomplish
what you were put on this earth to do in a gigantic way instead of circumstances
leading you through life like a donkey on a lead rope.

Life is too short to spend wandering in mediocrity. If you are ready to experience
freedom, then do what it takes to join us this August.

Tonight at midnight is the deadline for the Early Bird Special registration.

Bring some friends with you, and you can earn an affiliate commission when they register through you.

Find info on our affiliate program in the P.S. at the bottom of this page: http://www.EntrepreneurDays.com

If you are tired of being where you are, join us this August for our
version of Independence Day – YOURS!

The Duty of Parents

Hey,

Know what I’ve learned since I started educating my kids
at home 20 years ago? That part of the job of parents is to
help young people discover what they are good at and to help
them prepare themselves to enter the real world of work.

You can either be an employee and work for someone else,
or you can have your own business and work for yourself.

Traditional school prepares us to be good employees. But what
about those kids that just don’t fit the mold? What about those
kids who won’t play the game you have to play to be successful
in school?

They’re not always rebellious; sometimes they’re just different.

Well, I had at least one of those.
His name is Drew.

During the years he was at home, we had a blast learning together
about gardening, then farming, then the stock market, then real
estate, then eBay, then Internet marketing.

We just considered what we were doing as an extension of school,
which it was. It was real school where we discovered real world
activities and businesses that he enjoyed.

We did discover that he was not good with stock market investing.
He’s not a whiz with numbers. But he LOVES houses! So he now
builds houses and teaches real estate investors how to sell them on
eBay.

Who’da thought that he would stumble into something that no one
was doing? After all, he was just a 19 year old kid with some spare
time on his hands.

Well, that’s just the kind of thing that happens when you let the
power of imagination go in a motivated young person. We fueled
it with financial assistance to go to conferences and purchase home
study courses from experienced mentors.

Today Drew is married to the girl of his dreams, expecting his first
baby, building houses with his carpenter dad and loving what he is
doing.

It makes this mom, extremely happy to know that we discovered
his calling in life so early and that we were able to get the education
he needed to begin doing what he loves.

I often see 50 and 60-year-old men who still haven’t discovered
their life’s work. Many are stuck in jobs, just counting the days to
retirement. Many have given up hope of ever being happy and make
themselves content to just get by with not enough.

Personally, I think that is a tragedy.

There is so much more to life than what we’ve seen, especially now
that the Internet has brought the world of business to our very
fingertips.

And I want to help teenagers, moms and those 50 and 60-year-olds
find their call in life.

That’s why I bring expert millionaires to one place every year to teach
folks who are looking for practical education so they can break out of
the rut and find what’s in their hearts to do.

The place I bring them all to is a family home business conference we
call Entrepreneur Days. It’s 3 days of learning, inspiration and
networking with like-minded folks.

If anyone in your house is frustrated about where they are or aren’t in
life, here’s where to find something different.

No matter where kids are educated, I personally believe parents are
supposed to help them find their direction. Since most of us don’t know
what we want to be when we grow up, we may need some help with that.

Well, here’s help!

I’d love for you to join us this August!
